Union and living-wage careers in the clean economy
The overarching objective of Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN)’s Green Path Careers (GPC) program is to help Transition Age Youth (TAY) — 18-24 year-olds who are homeless, nearing homelessness, transitioning from foster care to independent living, or otherwise at risk for hardship — work toward rewarding careers in the sustainable economy by teaching them the life and employment skills required to succeed the high-growth energy efficiency industry.
The GPC program offers:
- TAY recruitment & enrollment
- Personal enrichment training (e.g., financial literacy, work ethics, life skills, sexual harassment awareness, career exploration and goal setting)
- BPI Training and Certification (Building Performance Institute)
- Employment referrals
- Work experience
- Job readiness support (e.g., personalized career coaching and planning, labor market information, resume/cover letter assistance, and interview training).
The Green Path Careers program is a collaboration between ECC and the Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN).
