Berkeley City College Honored For Energy Excellence
On Friday, November 16, 2012, Berkeley City College (BCC) was recognized for building energy excellence. The basis of the recognition is that Berkeley City College uses at least 20% less energy than comparable buildings. The City of Berkeley’s Climate Action Plan program, and Assembly member Nancy Skinner, California’s 14th District, presented the attached certificates of recognition. The benchmarking was done, at no cost to the District, through our partnerships with QuEST, a Berkeley-based engineering firm, and Emerald Cities Collaborative. Benchmark efforts were led by Mr. Tim Bankroff of QuEST; Ms. Tara Marchant of Emerald Cities; and Mr. Victor Chu, an architect based in the East Bay. The work with benchmarking provided BCC with a certificate of excellence.
