Seattle's Multi-Family Sustainability Summit
On September 28, 2012 Emerald Cities Seattle hosted a Multi-family Sustainability Summit. Over 35 representatives of local energy and solid waste utilities, environmental groups, community and tenants groups, landlords and service providers were in attendance. The Summit revealed the tremendous wealth of programs and expertise present in the Seattle Metropolitan Region while highlighting the opportunities for program collaboration and partnerships. The group generated an extensive list of opportunities and an asset map that can be used for project implementation. Emerald Cities Multi-family Working group is now using this input to craft an ambitious plan. This will include us advocating for making all multi-family buildings energy efficient by 2025 through comprehensive regulations and supporting programs.
